and has a mixture of habitats including beech-                     
maple forest; yellow birch, red maple, red elm                    
and blue beech trees; rolling meadows; dogwood,

Here is a ridge moraine, a kettlehole lake                            
and boulders from rocky outcrops frather                                 
north, visible evidence of the passing of the

Chocolate Peppermint Creams


Heavenly Dishes
Hamilton Wesleyan Church

Chocolate Peppermint Creams
3c flour
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c butter
1 1/2 c brown sugar
2 Tbsp water
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 eggs

peppermint cream:
3c confectioners sugar
1/3c soft butter
1/4 tsp peppermint extract
or to taste
1/4 c milk

Mix flour, baking soda and salt. In large saucepan
over low heat melt butter wtih brown sugar and water.
Add chocolate chips and stir. Remove from heat.
Cool slightly and beat in eggs. Add flour mixture and
mix well. Drop heaping teaspoonfuls onto greased
cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool.
Prepare peppermint cream by blending all
ingredients with a mixer until smooth. Sandwich
pairs of cookies together with 1 teaspoon of
peppermint cream. Makes 3 dozen.

Harvest Time Recipes From Local Cookbooks

NOTEWORTHY RECIPES
From the Angola High School
Marching Band and Guard
1997 ISSMA Class C State Champions


Pumpkin Bars
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 (2 c.) can of pumpkin
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. sugar
1 c. salad oil
4 eggs

Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Spread on a large, greased cookie sheet. 
Bake for approximately 20 minutes at 350
Let cool and then frost

Frosting
1 (3 0z.) package of cream cheese
1 Tbsp. milk
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Beat all the ingredients together
Spread over cooled bars

Scalloped Apples
6 apples
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. flour
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
Peel and core apples. Slice into greased dish.
Sprinkle over apples the cinnamon, salt,
lemon juice, and water. Work together flour,
sugar, and butter until crumbly. Spread
evenly over apples.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 - 45 minutes
