Recipe
From the Christian Church Women's Cook Book
of the First Christian Church in Angola, IN
Boston Brown Bread
1 cup sifted flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup dark molasses
1 1/2 cup sour milk
3 Tablespoons fat
Mix the dry ingredients; then add the molasses
and sour milk. Mix and stir it thoroughly. Add
3 T. melted fat. Pour into greased quart mold and
cover tightly. Steam 3-3 1/2 hours. This bread cuts
better if left in pan overnight. Raisins may be added.
